Why we love the Rustic Rocking Pig (m7030) . . .

With its curled tail and flattened snout, this pig fits perfectly in the modern farmhouse scheme. The distressed finish and vintage charm provide a familiar and comforting vibe that makes a house feel more like home. This solid and heavy pig feels aged and the high-quality piece will make anyone smile.

This piece is hand-painted and features a distressed finish to provide an antique look. The rockers are made from wrought iron and are also hand-painted. This piece is made with quality and care and will add ambiance and atmosphere for years to come.

An Eco-Friendly Frame of Mind . . .

We are a founding member of the Sustainable Furnishings Council; a coalition of manufacturers, retailers, and designers dedicated to raising awareness and expanding the adoption of environmentally sustainable practices across the home furnishings industry.

Our products are manufactured using materials that are sustainably harvested, non-toxic dyes, and water-based finishes.

Capiz is an oyster shell and the primary purpose of the oyster is as a source of food. However, the by-product, the shell, can be used for decoration. Due to it being a natural material, the natural colors of the capiz come through as tans and browns underneath the paint.

What Fair-Trade Means to Us  . . .

We view ourselves as partners with our manufacturers and continuously exchange ideas on how to improve production, product quality, and the health and well-being of the artisans that work to create the products we sell. We visit our manufacturers on a regular basis to ensure that our core mission is being followed.

Our products are produced in the Philippines, a country that is fast growing, and progressive on ensuring workers’ rights. It is also a country where many companies are run by women and their entrepreneurial efforts are encouraged.

The artisans who make our pieces are paid a living wage, provided quality housing, have access to continuing education, and work under dignified and safe conditions.

We Are Handmade  . . .

Each piece is crafted by hand, from the pressing of the metal base to placing each shell into place. The final steps would include hand painting and sealing the item.

The handcrafted touch of artisan skill creates variations in color, size and design. If buying two of the same item, slight differences should be expected. Note: Color discrepancies may occur between this product and your computer screen.
