Why we love the Musician Wall Decor Bass Player (m3001) . . .

The bass is symbolic in rhythm and undertone in both classical and jazz genres. Both genres are known for taking the listener on a journey. While listening, you can feel the happy times or drama that the musician is portraying. The well-dressed bass player has her eyes closed as she feels the story of the song. Her dress has circular impressions to symbolize the music flowing from her. Finally, the dress is adorned with capiz giving it a shimmer as it reflects light.

The frame of the Bass Player Wall Decor is created using tin, which is powder coated in a black finish. The frame is reinforced using wrought iron wire inner and outer edges. Capiz is an oyster shell and the primary purpose of the oyster is as a source of food. However, the by-product, the shell, can be used for decoration. Due to it being a natural material, the natural colors of the capiz can come through as tans and browns underneath the paint.

An Eco-Friendly Frame of Mind . . .

We are a founding member of the Sustainable Furnishings Council; a coalition of manufacturers, retailers, and designers dedicated to raising awareness and expanding the adoption of environmentally sustainable practices across the home furnishings industry.

Our products are manufactured using materials that are sustainably harvested, non-toxic dyes, and water-based finishes.

What Fair-Trade Means to Us  . . .

We view ourselves as partners with our manufacturers and continuously exchange ideas on how to improve production, product quality, and the health and well-being of the artisans that work to create the products we sell. We visit our manufacturers on a regular basis to ensure that our core mission is being followed.

Our products are produced in the Philippines, a country that is fast growing, and progressive on ensuring workers’ rights. It is also a country where many companies are run by women and their entrepreneurial efforts are encouraged.

The artisans who make our pieces are paid a living wage, provided quality housing, have access to continuing education, and work under dignified and safe conditions.

We Are Handmade  . . .

Each piece is crafted by hand, from the pressing of the metal base to placing each shell into place. The final steps would include hand painting and sealing the item.

The handcrafted touch of artisan skill creates variations in color, size and design. If buying two of the same item, slight differences should be expected. Note: Color discrepancies may occur between this product and your computer screen.
